Slime effect.This blob appears to be composed of solid shadow and may have some conection to the elemental plane of shadow? It lies in wait in dark corners of the dark then when some pour soul walks by, it leaps out and feeds off the resulting fear of the jump scare!
Fear in any qualnity is it's meal and if it can not create fear it will seek out those exsperincing fear, such as delvers .

oohh.... maybe give it a side effect to the power where eating someone's fear makes them feel happy... when they shouldn't. Thus causing them to act like it's just a fun place to visit... even though it has deadly traps.
